I received both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Literacy from St. John's University. During my studies I focused my research on Project Based STEM education, STEM learning specialties, and alternative intervention strategies for students with specific learning needs. While I love teaching science math, I have a passion for literature and during my graduate studies worked as a Writing Consultant to university students. After graduating with the Teaching Literacy grades 5-12 Alumni award, I went on to teach 7th Grade Pre-Algebra. With over 7 years of tutoring experience and 2 years working professionally in the field, I have become passionate about the opportunities that a rich, creative, and individualized education offers all students. This, paired with an internal motivation and a growth mindset are underlying themes of all my lessons. When I am not teaching, I am gardening, writing, playing the piano, or hiking with friends.
