I am proud to state that I received my Bachelors of Science and Masters of Education from Slippery Rock University. Post-grad certifications (including SpEd Admin certification) through the University of Pittsburgh.
I am certified as a Reading Specialist (K-12), Special Education teacher (K-12), Early Childhood/Elementary Education teacher (Pre-3) and as a Special Education Supervisor (K-12).
I am in my 30th year of teaching and I am currently teaching middle/secondary Literature/Lang Arts. I also run a unique class that focuses on increasing reading comprehension & strengthening executive function skills.
Throughout my career, I have taught at the elementary, middle and high school level. (Advanced levels to remediation). I am always learning & love to positively engage my students in the learning process.
While I am able to tutor a variety of subjects, I love Reading, Literature, ELA, Writing and History. I love looking for relevant lessons that focus on my student's needs! I am confident that I can strategies through modeling, guided practice, repetition, and humor. I will incorporate fun and laughter into each session.

I love to ski in the winter and go to the beach in the summer. I have been a marching band front/majorette advisor for all 30 years of teaching. Proud parent of 2 children that attend Michigan State University.
