Physics Tutoring review by Melvin in Kansas City, MO
This session went really well. Both students seem really bright. They both said that the phrasing of questions in the test is what holds them back from answering the question correctly. We worked on section B-1 and B-2 of a practice test. I advised them to highlight, write down the given, draw picture when necessary, search for a formula, then solve. I told them to solve the formula's algebraically first before solving plugging in. I also recommended to do the questions they know quickly and then go back to the ones that required further thought. I told them that they should familiarize them themselves with the formulas and constants that way they are quick to find. Overall this session went really well. They said they felt more confident after the session. I told them to finish up that prep test (they only had part C left) and that we would review any that they had trouble in.

We studied mostly electricity and magnetism problems in review for his final exam that is to take place this Wednesday. We reviewed in particular: Right-hand-rule in depth and he seems to understand it. We mostly talked about problems and solved them trying to focus on ways to identify quickly various methods of solution.
