The student and I met to go over his extra credit assignment and to review for his test on Wednesday. We will be getting together for the next three days to prepare for his exam on Wednesday. I think he will do well with all of the practice we will be doing.

The student and I continued to go over her English project. We worked out a Thesis and went over some important points to keep in the summary. We used the preparation for discussing main points and arguments to help with the Compass exam. Furthermore, we worked on comma usage, and I sent her home with some homework that should help her practice those.

We reviewed parametric equations and worked through several example problems. I had the student pretend that she was teaching me about parametrics in order to make sure she understood the theory behind the concept.

We covered use and construction of adverbs, various uses of the infinitive, and the different ways to use the verb "acabar," as well as review of the chapter's vocabulary - all in preparation for a test that is to take place 2 days after.

In today's session, I reviewed the chapter that covered protists with the student. After going through the chapter, I tested him on the vocabulary words in the chapter since he will have a quiz over them tomorrow. Progress was good overall. The student just had a little trouble remembering the names of the different protists.

Worked with the student on further analysis of an Emily Dickinson poem ahead of his paper on the poem. We talked about the way in which various levels of analysis can all contribute to a more complete understanding of the poem, and the way in which we can synthesize multiple layers of information into a thesis that explains a great deal about the poem. As always, great session.
