Tutoring review by Megan in Clear Lake City, TX
During this session, the student and I mainly worked on calculator multiple choice questions. She was able to start and complete most problems on her own and as she explained them, I could tell she really understood why she was doing what she was doing. She has a deeper understanding of the material than she had before the session and I think she will do really well on the AP on Tuesday!

Today's session we covered a review of the rule of three, and we saw it from different approaches in order to help the student develop his algebraic thinking. He struggled with this exercises, so we need to put more attention in this details. I left him a web site to visit it so he can master these kinds of operations, and hopefully we can review them tomorrow.

Tutoring review by Vanessa in Clear Lake City, TX
Today we reviewed for a retest that the student will take on her first unit in geometry. There were a couple of topics (midpoint, distance formula, and more application problems) where she needed a bit more review to understand how the problem was solved. After going through each question she missed, I gave her similar practice problems. She was able to complete these successfully. I believe she will do well if she reviews her notes and her old exam a few times more before she takes the retest. Overall it was a good session; she had a positive attitude throughout and was willing to do more practice problems to ensure she understood the material.

I drilled the student on general derivatives and trig derivatives from my calculus problems files today. We also went over qualitative graphing a bit. I think it's safe to say she has mastered quotient rule, product rule, sum rule, and the difference rule. I see a lot of progress on her end. I am sure she will do amazing on her quiz. She is hardworking, insightful, and ready to learn!

Tutoring review by McKenzie in Clear Lake City, TX
The student started working with polynomials this week. We reviewed some problems she struggled with and completed work due for this week. She seems to have a good grasp on this material, including the word problems we encountered. I'll continue bringing work on quadratic equations (specifically story problems) and the use of PEMDAS operations in future sessions.
