Tutoring review by Shivam in Canonsburg, PA
The student worked on his math project of 4's where he has to compute the numbers 1 through 50 using only 4 quantities of the number 4. We then proceeded to solve one and two-step algebraic equations involving decimals and fractions. He did very well, however he needs to continue practicing carrying the positive and negative signs.

The student's final is tomorrow, so we went through the chapter review questions. She understood most of them, and we reviewed right triangles with altitudes, and quadrilaterals.

Tutoring review by Sarah Brooke in Canonsburg, PA
Today I went over the students' essays. They chose to do the creative one. Both their writing is very good - excellent details, solid grammar, and good vocabulary. Student D needs to use paragraphs to break up his stories. I told him that at the very least there should be a paragraph for beginning, middle, and end. I told Student C that he should write out numbers and watch preposition use. Then, we started to go over his math section. There were a lot of things he didn't know, but I explained it to them very simply and repetitively and they seemed to grasp each concept easily. I asked them to study 10 root words this week as well as study with their SSAT prep book (the math section) 30 minutes every other day. I want them to teach themselves the new concepts so that we can spend more time working on other things. They're definitely smart enough to work on their own and learn how to multiply decimals, for example. I'm here to help if any of those concepts turn out to be too difficult to do on their own.

Tutoring review by Matjaz in Canonsburg, PA
Today we implemented L'Hopital's rule on examples ranging from ratios of exponentials to tan(2x)^x . General strategies for L'Hopital's rule were used. Also, for speed, sometimes more classical methods such as (1+x/n)^n -> exp(n) work faster and better. The student is confident and skilled in solving this class of problems.

Tutoring review by Cheyne Ian in Canonsburg, PA
The student is showing great improvement. He still needs work on some of his times tables, but is making great progress on his school work. He then did his homework in front of me, and he had little problem completing it correctly with only a few simple errors. He has such a great attitude and it is a pleasure to work with him.
