About Me

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education from Pacific Lutheran University in Washington state. I tutored middle school and high school students, and homeschooled my son while putting myself through college. After graduations, I moved my family to Arizona where I took a first grade teaching position. During my 20 years as a professional educator I have taught as a substitute teacher for a year, taught first grade for eight years, fifth grade for 10 years and sixth grade math for one year. I have also taught middle school math, as well as math and science for first and second grade students during summer school. Currently, I am a substitute teacher for the district that gave my first teaching job and I am tutoring for a homeschooling co-op. I love learning and I enjoy sharing that passion with others. As an educator my goal is to teach students how to learn and encourage them to become life long learners.
