About Me

I am a graduate of Goucher College and I'm from the Washington DC metropolitan area. I received my Bachelor of Arts History with a focus in East Asia and Africana Studies. After graduating in 2016 I moved to China (Changsha) where I taught English to elementary, middle, and high school students for 2 years. I also taught English to elementary students in South Korea for another 2 years. I have traveled extensively and tutored children of all ages across Asia. I also have experience teaching US college students how to write essays and give presentations. I am a certified ESL instructor and would be glad to help you improve your English in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. I am currently a teacher at an elementary school where I teach a variety of subjects however, I am most passionate about English and History. My expertise is in teaching ESL and English to elementary and middle school students however I can teach all ages. In my experience students tend to improve when given the opportunity to actively engage in subjects and materials they're passionate about thus I make sure to modify my curriculum towards the student's goals and interests. I have been successful at making learning fun by encouraging students to engage in innovative thinking. I will utilize my training, the resources provided to me and most important, my recent teaching experience to achieve the best learning environment for all students.
