About Me

I am a recent graduate from Iowa State in Civil Engineering. I recently moved to Seattle to start a job with Habitat for Humanity working as a Construction Volunteer Lead. I pursued engineering because I enjoy using math and critical thinking to solve complex problems. I am also currently studying for the GRE so that I may apply for grad school next fall. I enjoy all things active. I played ultimate frisbee for my university's club team and hope to find another team to play for here in Seattle. I am happiest when I leave civilization behind and enjoy the outdoors. I love camping, hiking, backpacking, and I recently got into rock climbing. As a tutor, I believe it is my job to provide supplemental instruction that is tailored to my students' needs and learning style. Listing to a teacher explain how to solve a math problem is not everybody's favorite way to learn. Sometimes it just takes someone willing to patiently answer any and all questions. Sometimes it requires someone to show a different technique. Everyone has the ability to learn, you just have to find the right way.
