About Me

I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with a Biochemistry concentration. My personal and academic backgrounds have fueled my passion for effective education, which I believe can impart both knowledge and interest to a student. As such, I have worked as a tutor at Kumon for over 4 years, teaching students of all ages and watching them grow and succeed. My college peers often sought my help to parse difficult concepts into understandable pieces and to offer intuitive approaches to problems. I treat teaching and learning as an exercise of clear, open communication; the better the communication, the more appropriate the pace of learning, the greater the understanding between the teacher and student, and the more comfortable the learning experience becomes. With the sciences fresh on my mind and confidence about test preparation, I plan to tutor mathematics (up to Calculus AB), biology, chemistry, physics, and the SAT. But even I need to catch a break from the academic scene at times, which I love to fill with cooking, baking, and running!
