My reason for teaching is to share what knowledge I have gained and to help other people learn. I am not an educator if I simply give out information; I am only a teacher if someone learns. I feel that it is my responsibility to present material in such a manner that students can do well. The materi...

I graduated from high school as salutatorian and graduated from Saint Louis University as a Biology major while taking a multitude of Psychology classes, I believe I have the knowledge and skill set to guide students in whatever areas they are struggling with, while providing study tools and techniques they'll be able to utilize throughout their entire educational career. If students have any sort of interest in the health care field, I would have be able to give them advice from my perspective, having completed my first year at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and currently doing research in Immunology and Interventional Radiology.

I am currently a 3rd-year dental student where I am working towards receiving my doctorate. I find myself enjoying things such as writing, playing tennis, and spending a lot of time outdoors when I get the chance. I have also always had a knack for tutoring students which is why in undergrad at my university I was a part of a program called Collegiate Honors Preparatory Program. Within this program, we travel to underprivileged high schools, and tutor students for the ACT, and also help them with any homework questions they have. We have seen significant improvements in the scores of these students and every single student I have tutored has become very proficient in all subjects of the ACT. I enjoy tutoring and helping students even with their homework, and some of my best subjects include pre-algebra, pre-calculus, English, and anything related to the ACT and the DAT, which is the dental aptitude test. Standardized tests have always been difficult for me without someone teaching me unique strategies and that is why I enjoy tutoring students taking these exams because there are certain approaches that are really useful. Tutoring has always been such a big part of my life, especially after I truly realized the satisfaction of imparting knowledge to children who are genuinely looking for someone to assist them. Education is extremely important and staying ahead and asking for help is the best way to learn and enhance your intelligence.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola University Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish Language. I pursued this degree because of my passion to help kids, like me, who have ADHD. It took me some time to gain confidence in my academic abilities because of this diagnosis, and so I hope to help other students realize that ADHD has nothing to do with intelligence. If anything, it gives us an edge! I believe any student can master any subject as long as they have the right instructor. My favorite subjects are math, science, psychology, and Spanish. I love good puns, swimming, cooking, and being outdoors. I can't wait to share my love of learning with more students!

I am very passionate about helping students. I believe we truly never get out of the stage of being students as there is always something to learn. I am big on community and assisting our future in anyway I can.By assisting students through tutoring, speaking life and encouragement into them, I feel I am doing my part. I have been working with students from all age groups and backgrounds for over 4 years. I received my BA in Psychology at UMSL and am currently working on my MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UMSL. Being a student myself, I know classes can be challenging and seem impossible to get to your goal. However, sometimes it just takes someone helping you to take a step back and access the situation while telling you that you can do this. I tutor reading and writing (specialize in elementary reading and writing and middle and high school writing). These are also my favorite subjects to tutor because as an artist, I do both in my leisure time. I believe in collaborative solutions for the student so that the student can get as much out of the session as possible. If I can provide and create a catchy tune, song, visual or video to assist in remembering things I will use it. Outside of academia I work as a Social Emotional Mentor for adolescence, I attend graduate school, sing, do poetry, cook, I host healing sessions, and spend time with my family.

I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in applied math. I have experience tutoring ACT and math. I'm very good at communicating concepts in an easy to understand manner. My philosophy is to first understand the student so we can define objectives, create a plan of action for both myself and the student, and evaluate progress along the way.

A tutor is someone who's job is to re-frame knowledge in a way that's clear and consistent with the student's frame of reference, something I do quite well. I am a Sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering (with a minor in Mathematics) at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Although I am no expert I am quite skilled in mathematics (you sorta have to be to as an engineer) and unlike some people in here I refrain from using math jargon while teaching, instead focusing on building on basic knowledge and constructing mathematical rules. I tutor Algebra 1 and 2 as well as Trigonometry but I am open to facilitating up to Calculus 2. If you want a tutor who speaks like a human and not a calculator then try me.

I received a BSE in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English Language Arts Education at the University of Central Missouri. I currently am studying English as a Second Language at Missouri Western State University. I have tutored students one-on-one and even lead a Writing Center at my college campus. Not to mention, I have loads of teaching experience at the Elementary and Middle School setting. I have tutored English and Reading most, and love to instruct on this content as reading and writing is a passion of mine. My teaching philosophy is appealing to the whole child. We all deserve an engaging session where we feel like we're on a Magic School Bus ride. Every student deserves this immersive experience. In my free time, I read, write poetry, run, draw, and paint.

I've always been passionate about sharing knowledge with students. I love learning new things, and I really enjoy helping students do the same. The best part about helping students is that I learn new ideas from them as well!Being a teacher has been my goal since I was a kid. All through high school and college, I tutored students, mostly math topics. I also did some student teaching while earning my degree. Since then, I have had the chance to teach college courses along with tutoring students online. Right now I help with some online math courses targeted at students from other countries. It's been interesting seeing how other cultures approach mathematics.I earned a math degree from Truman State University. After that, I went to graduate school at the University of Missouri in Columbia.I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, and a masters degree in statisticsI tutor all levels of algebra, along My favorite subject to tutor is statistics. Every day we see statistics in the real world, and I like that I get to teach students how to interpret and analyze that information from a mathematical perspective.I recognize that some people really struggle with mathematics. Sometimes math can seem like learning a new language. As a tutor and instructor, my goal is to give students the tools needed to connect and build on ideas, rather than just memorizing formulas. I like to keep students involved by asking questions. I also want my students to ask me questions. Together we work together to put the ideas in the simplest terms.I enjoy activities that involve problem solving, like jigsaw puzzles. I also like baking treats, and eating them! Plus I'm a big fan of board games and trivia nights with friends.

I am a first year economics major at Washington University in St. Louis. For high school, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from an American school in China. I am a native English speaker, but I have been learning Mandarin for my entire life as well. I took 9 AP tests throughout high school in addition to the ACT. I got a 5 on Calculus BC, macroeconomics, psychology, seminar, and statistics, and a 4 on microeconomics, chemistry, computer science A, and environmental science. I am passionate about helping others, and believe that a strong fundamental knowledge of the subject is the most important factor to improving overall grades and future learning.
