Physics Tutoring review by Adam in Cleveland, OH
The student and I went over the properties of magnetism today and several equations associated with it. He should have a fighting chance of getting the purely conceptual questions on these new units even though we don't have time to really teach them at a deep level.

Physics Tutoring review by Brian in Cleveland, OH
The first half of this session was spent completing the review packet. The conceptual problems covered work, energy, heat, and elementary electricity problems. Overall, I think this packet was useful for setting up work for the more math-oriented problem set. It demonstrated where we need to review both conceptually and mathematically. We began work on that packet, beginning with kinematics. I suggested some math problems involving scientific notation and fractions for the student to work on during her own time I am certain with more math practice and some patience, the student could improve her test score considerably, regardless of how much more physics we cover over the next week.

Physics Tutoring review by Carolyn in Cleveland, OH
We went over her lab on atomic mass, atomic number, and half life. We talked about graphical ways to visualize the concepts. Then we went through her Algebra homework on simplifying rational expressions. She's very good at this and feels confident. We practiced factoring when she had a bit of trouble with it, and it came back to her quickly.
