If you are planning to obtain a license to practice law and you need some extra help preparing for the bar exam, Varsity Tutors can set you up with the Phoenix bar exam preparation that will best suit your learning style. Completing the bar exam is one of the most important steps to becoming a lawyer, yet it can be a difficult hurdle for some to overcome. Even though you may have learned what you need to know to pass the bar exam as a student at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, it always helps to be able to review the material, whether that is through an online prep course or by studying with a private instructor.
What Material is Covered by Phoenix Bar Exam Prep?
The bar exam is taken by those who wish to obtain a license to practice law. The UBE (Universal Bar Exam) was developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) to test whether or not candidates are competent to practice law in their jurisdiction. Every state has its own bar exam requirements, so you should familiarize yourself with which exams are used in your state. The exams used in Arizona are the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE), the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), the Multistate Essay Examination (MEE), and the Multistate Performance Test (MPT), and Arizona is a UBE state. The MPRE is a 60-question multiple choice exam that covers topics such as the regulation of the legal profession, client confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and the different roles of the lawyer. The MBE is a 200-question multiple choice exam that covers civil procedure, constitutional law, criminal law, evidence, and torts, among other topics. Its purpose is to assess the extent to which a candidate can use fundamental legal principles and reasoning to analyze given fact patterns. The MEE is an essay test consisting of six 30-minute questions that test a candidate's ability to identify legal issues raised by a hypothetical situation, present a reasoned analysis of issues about the situation in a clear and concise manner, and demonstrate an understanding of the principles relevant to the probable solution of the issues raised by the situation. Finally, the MPT is another essay test consisting of two 90-minute items that test a candidate's ability to use their skills in a realistic situation and complete a task that a novice lawyer should be able to accomplish.
Your scores can be transferred to other UBE jurisdictions. In any case, the right Phoenix bar exam prep class or private instructor can help you better understand these concepts and familiarize yourself with the exams you will need to take.
What are the Benefits of Each Type of Phoenix Bar Exam Prep?
Varsity Tutors can connect you with two different types of Phoenix bar exam prep. Each type has its own benefits, and some candidates have found that they can get the most out of utilizing both options. The first type is a Phoenix bar exam prep class that is taken online in a virtual classroom. This class will allow you to chat with other students and your instructor while engaging in group learning activities. This can be incredibly helpful if you prefer a collaborative learning environment. For example, if you've been struggling with any topics that will be on the bar exam, there might be other students who can help you better understand them. Meanwhile, you can do the same for other students if you have a firm grasp on something that someone else might not quite understand. Of course, you can also reach out to your instructor for some one-on-one time if you need any extra help. Since this class will be entirely online, you won't have to worry about making the trip to a physical classroom. As long as you have a stable Internet connection, you can always participate in class no matter where you are. New sections open up regularly, so you will be able to choose the bar exam prep class that works best with your schedule.
If you would rather receive private instruction instead of a bar exam prep course, we can also set you up with a Phoenix bar exam tutor. You will have the undivided attention of a private instructor who can tailor their lessons to suit your learning style and focus on any learning opportunities that might help you in your exam. You will also be able to learn at your own pace and set your own schedule, especially since your tutoring sessions will be online.
