If you're a prospective student at a graduate school such as Oklahoma City University or Oklahoma Christian University, Varsity Tutors can help you find the right Oklahoma City GRE prep course. The GRE is a 3 hour and 45 minute exam accepted by thousands of colleges and universities around the world from students hoping to earn admission to a Master's, MBA, or Doctoral program. As one of the first obstacles to applying to these types of higher education programs, you'll want to make sure to take advantage of every tool available when it comes to reviewing for the GRE. Oklahoma City GRE prep can help the review process to be more effective and less frustrating.
What can Oklahoma City GRE prep cover?
The GRE consists of three separate sections, all of which measure your ability to succeed in a graduate-level course or higher. The sections evaluate your Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning skills. Let's take a closer look at the skills you'll want to cover during your GRE review.
The Analytical Writing assessment contains two separately timed tasks. You'll have a half hour for each task: analyzing an issue and analyzing an argument. For this assessment, you'll want to practice supporting your ideas with quality evidence. You'll need to demonstrate your capacity to articulate complex ideas in an effective and clear manner as well as being able to provide focused responses to the given questions. With only 30 minutes for each essay, you'll want to practice how to plan, write, and edit an essay response quickly. This is a skill you can gain assistance in developing when you work with an expert GRE instructor.
The next section is the Verbal Reasoning section consisting of two 30-minute sections. Each section contains 20 questions, which evaluate your reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence abilities. Reading comprehension questions ask you to read a passage and demonstrate your understanding of the text with questions regarding the passage's content. Text completion questions ask you to complete a short passage by choosing one of the 3-5 options given to fill in a blank. Sentence equivalence questions require you choose the best answer to complete a single sentence. These are skills you can work on with your GRE prep class.
The final section is the Quantitative Reasoning section. This portion of the exam is split into two sections, each lasting 35 minutes and consisting of 20 questions. Your GRE review course can help you practice your basic math skills in algebra, geometry, arithmetic, and data analysis. You'll want to practice using mathematical models to solve real-world problems as well as interpretation and analysis of quantitative data. You'll be provided with a calculator to help you with this part of the GRE.
What are the benefits of different types of Oklahoma City GRE prep?
When you choose Varsity Prep, you'll have to opportunity to choose between signing up for an online, collaborative GRE class or work privately with a GRE coach. For example, when reviewing the math skills in the Quantitative Reasoning section, you can work through the problems with inputs from your peers on the quickest ways to move through that particular kind of problem. When working on your Analytical Writing skills, you can receive constructive criticism on ways to improve your argument skills with better evidence and examples. You'll have the option to choose between a 2 week or 4 week class when you sign up for one of these online classes. New class sessions begin each week so you can get started at any time convenient for you.

I'm a graduate having acquired a Masters and Bachelors Degree in engineering from the University of Central Oklahoma. I have experience with college prep and GRE testing as well, with an emphasis on math/quantitative reasoning.... Practice and patience are a solution for some, but correct learning methods are the key for others!... Get to know the student and find out what they need help with. Afterwards, design a program to help them with the issues they are having.

I love teaching people and helping others understand and achieve a confidence in themselves. Most people sell themselves short and when motivated can achieve great things.... Provide the right tools, and enough confidence, and anyone can succeed.... First, become acquainted with the student's likes and dislikes. Second, find a direction the student is comfortable in going and then follow the student, providing any necessary support.... Implementing thought patterns that will help students think outside the box and become better problem solvers. Also, I believe boosting confidence is a key factor.

I believe in the power of education.... Believe in yourself. You have the power to do great things. If you work hard and try your best, you can achieve anything you want. I can help guide you, but you have to put in the work.... Ask them questions to understand what they know, what they need help with, and what will be the best way to approach the tutoring sessions... By teaching them good study skills, test taking skills, time management, and organization. Also, by helping them to realize their potential and help them feel empowered.

...are exactly alike and that every mind deserves an equal chance to reach its fullest potential. I am also confident that no one branch of study is set apart. Instruction is most effective when it appeals to a student's particular passions and interests in order to stimulate curiosity and engagement in a course of study. A student's strengths should be celebrated, but they should also be utilized to facilitate growth in other areas.... I find that with History and English (especially as it relates to composition) a holistic approach is most beneficial. Not only does the process help a student's comprehension of a particular subject, but it also stimulates the mind to think about the interconnectivity of all studies. I enjoy seeing students make connections across different fields of interest.
