Tutoring is about a lot more than studying, tests, and knowledge. I believe the interpersonal relationship involved with teaching greatly benefits both parties. Learning is fundamental to life- and turning otherwise cumbersome and difficult tasks like passing a hard class into a lightbulb moment is where I find my satisfaction. Turning such a familiar struggle into newfound realization and understanding is what I aim for.

My name is A.J. Hubbard and I'm excited to work alongside students to help them cultivate their study strategies, improve their work habits, develop their critical writing and reading skills, and prepare for important tests and assignments. I am an avid writer, reader, and history buff who prioritizes the long-term development of student learning strategies.

I have taught both English and computer science for years. In that time, it became obvious that individual conferences and small groups were the most effective way to learn for many of us. That led me to tutoring. Learning holds power, and I want to help others on their learning journeys. I strive myself to continue learning. I am currently learning Spanish and SQL.
