Having been a tutor and teacher for almost 20 years, I enjoy working with all age groups and backgrounds. I focus on sciences and arts subjects as well as test prep. I am a medical doctor with MBA and MPH and enjoy tutoring as a second career.

I am dedicated to helping students understand not only the material of their subjects but strategies for answering questions of all types. I find it extremely helpful and important for the success of a student to focus on the intricacies of test taking or writing, such as proper use of the process of elimination with multiple choice questions, deep understanding of question syntax, and ways to formulate written answers, essays and papers that emphasize what the student knows and minimizes what the student doesn't know or isn't relevant to the subject at hand. I also facilitate a student's meaningful absorption of the material in the following ways: verbal expression of both the student's and my own thought processes, repetition of (novel) questions in areas that are difficult for the student and the monitoring of progress through correctly answered questions and the student's ability to explain why certain answers, thought processes or writing methods are either correct or incorrect. Finally, I possess great patience with students of all ages and hope to make the tutoring experience as smooth and as helpful as possible for them!

I am an experienced businessman with free time between the work chapters of my business, branding and retail career. I have an undergraduate degree in Business and Marketing, 4/5 of a graduate degree in Secondary Business and Computer Science Education, and a love of teaching. I've also helped bring 2 great kids into the world who are now grown into successful adults, both college grads. In my free time, I do a lot of volunteer work with kids and education. I am also fluent in career search, social media, international business, and non profits.

I am a 2020 graduate of Northwestern University with a BA in Cognitive Science and Linguistics. I have previously tutored at Mathnasium, and during my senior year at NU I was a tutor for student-athletes on campus. I greatly enjoy helping others learn and seeing the accomplishment on their faces when a concept we've been working on finally clicks.Some of my favorite topics to teach are psychology and standardized tests like the ACT--these are areas that I enjoyed studying when I was in high school, so I like to make them fun and interesting for my students as well.In my free time, I make time to read for pleasure, get outside to enjoy the fresh air, and recently started crocheting!

I am a junior at Northwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Policy with a concentration in Human Development and Psychological Services. I am also pursuing a minor in Music Technology.I first began tutoring as a junior in high school. Starting out, my main subjects were Algebra II, Geometry, and Spanish for beginners. I then shifted my focus to standardized tests after finding personal success with the math section of the SAT and the Math Level 2 SAT subject test. I have since expanded and now also tutor for Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics (6th through 12th grade).I am passionate about helping students because I grew up hearing that there were two kinds of people: those who were good at math and those who simply weren't built for it. I don't believe this is true. I think everyone can be a "math person" with the right individualized approach, and I thoroughly enjoy the challenges and rewards of helping students become confident problem-solvers both inside the classroom and beyond!Outside of tutoring and my own studies, I enjoy cooking, graphic design, college sports, and singing with my a cappella group. I also enjoy drawing and painting in my spare time.

Last year, in 2020, I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in mathematics and have since spent extensive time educating K-12 youth both in-person and through various virtual platforms throughout the United States. Moreover, as an educator within the Baltimore Public School District, I understand the importance of education and have been exposed to and benefited from a wide range of teaching pedagogies and educational perspectives. To this end, I work for the kids, stressing their need for solid instruction in a rapidly changing educational economy, and want nothing less than a foundational approach to their learning that suits them and their goals. My teaching specialties are SAT and ACT test prep, K-12 mathematics, and college calculus. (I am also open to teach and explore more advanced topics if needed). I look forward to meeting you! -Vince
