History Tutoring review by Natalie in Norman, OK
Today the student and I talked through his edit of an essay on leadership. We tweaked some small things and talked about how to elevate the essay in the last couple of sentences with a statement on his experience of leadership more generally. For next time, he will write a couple of first drafts and edit another essay.

History Tutoring review by Alexandra in Norman, OK
Yesterday's session revolved around the new section the student was learning, involving congruent triangles. She has a pretty good grasp on these properties, so I spent most of this session reviewing her knowledge of all previous sections she's learned/we've covered. I gave her another practice angle network problem after we discussed her grade on last week's quiz regarding that subject (she got a B). Then for the rest of the session, she derived circle equations from diagrams I drew for her in order to refresh her memory on that subject.

Today we reviewed the note sheet the student made for her midterm. We gave examples of topics she was still a little unclear on, and then did some practice problems. Remembering to draw pictures when using a Z-tables will be very helpful to her on her test!

History Tutoring review by Samuel in Norman, OK
We covered basic algebra expressions with positive and negative numbers including fractions, order of operations, graphing points on a plane, creating tables, graphs and word problems related to the different number sets, and exploring common patterns. The student just requires further practice to increase confidence in a fairly strong general understanding of the material. The student has a fantastic attitude toward math and improvement in math, specifically algebra. We discussed a couple test taking strategies about how to address multiple choice problems. The assignment we worked on had a few problems remaining that we briefly touched on. I will make sure to follow up on the student's performance on the remaining problems.

History Tutoring review by Lance in Norman, OK
We covered Newton's 1st and 2nd laws briefly. I introduced some word problems for the 2nd law. She struggled with visualizing the concept to be able to do the math. I spent some extra time working with her on this. This is totally normal when introducing this topic. She has a better grasp on it and with more practice, I am confident she will have a firm grasp on this. She got her test back, and she did better on it than here first test, but there is still room for improvement. We will get there! She has a great attitude about physics and just wants to learn.

History Tutoring review by Erin in Norman, OK
We worked mostly on math problems on the website, doing a lot of quadratic equations and polynomial manipulations. We also got into a little bit of grammar with pronoun ambiguity and parallelism near the end. The student is doing well, but we definitely worked on a lot of strategies with quadratic equations. For example, never use the quadratic formula on the test since it's very time-consuming. They will usually just be asking for the zeros anyway. I will be emailing him some old practice SATs to work on before we meet next time.
