I want to help students reach or surpass their own personal goals in the most effective way possible by understanding what they are trying to accomplish, how they are trying to accomplish it , and how I can help them improve on their own personal skills.A little bit about myself I am currently pursuing a Bach. in Aerospace Engineering. I have always been very good at math in fact there were some grades where I feel I was teaching myself.I have never tutored for money before. This is not to suggest that I have never tutored because I have tutored Algebra 1, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics 1 , and ACT. If you are interested I hope we can work something out!

I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma studying industrial & systems engineering. While I love my major, I'm also involved on campus outside of the engineering department, serving as an event chair under Campus Activities Council, working with orientation & transfer programs, and volunteering as a mentor for middle school students at Loveworks Leadership!

I am a senior at the University of Oklahoma currently applying to medical school for entrance into the fall class of 2017! Because I am only four classes away from earning my Bachelor's of Science in Biology at OU, I will only be taking two classes this fall, and finishing up with two classes in the spring. This gives me a lot of extra time time to tutor in academic areas that I enjoy! I also have extensive childcare experience and love tutoring elementary age students, as well.

I am a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where I achieved membership in the national honor society Eta Sigma Phi for classical scholars who maintain excellence within their field. I am an ancient Greek scholar and I studied at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece for a year on top of my varied studies at the University of Oklahoma. Because I started as a Letters major, my field of study ranges from ancient languages, art and culture to modern philosophy, history and literature. I lived and worked in China and Taiwan for two decades and I speak Mandarin fairly fluently. My passion for teaching isn't limited to any one subject, but my experience is absolutely heavy on the side of English as a second language and specifically reading and writing. I have been teaching for over 25 years now and I am continuing to learn and grow as a teacher. For the past 4 years, I have been exclusively teaching online and I must say that I find this format to be liberating and inspiring! I lived in France for almost ten years and fell in love with the people, their language, and their country. I lived and worked in such places as Aix-en-Provence, Bourges, Clermont-Ferrand, and Paris. My primary reasons for being in France, however, were to master the French language and complete my bachelors in 1986, my masters in 1994, and my doctorate in 2001. I have extensive knowledge of French culture and have achieved near-native fluency. My overriding goal when teaching French has always been to increase fluency, both written and spoken. Inasmuch as possible I conduct classes in French. This is a daunting prospect to many students, but my greatest assets as a teacher are patience and praise. I have taught all levels of French to students as young as 10 and as old as 70. I am also certified to prepare students to take the College Board's AP French Language and Culture exam. My AP students have consistently earned 4s and 5s on this rigorous test. My favorite thing about teaching French is to meet a student with no knowledge of French and watch her/him go on to study in France, become fluent in the language and then take a degree in it. I love to inspire.

I had never worked as a formal educator before this past school year, and one of the many things I learned was that watching elementary school students learn to read is FASCINATING.I also learned that kids like me, and tend to be glad to work with me because I'm not a normal stodgy grown-up.

I've always loved learning, but I often needed someone to remind me why. I want to be that person for other students. I've taught Spanish in America and English in Panama, India, and Morocco. I was a part of the esteemed Arabic Flagship Program at the University of Oklahoma where I tutored students in various dialects of Arabic until I graduated with degrees in Arabic and Linguistics. My favorite subjects to teach are anything related to language, e.g., reading, writing, speaking...if it has words, I'm excited! Linguistics is my passion. i also love teaching the study and organizational skills i struggled to learn from scratch in college. I know from experience as a neurodivergent student that a patient teacher and a personalized approach makes all the difference in the learning experience. I work to make all material exciting and achievable for each student so they feel that they are truely learning, and they enjoy it. I'm a firm believer in the benefits of life-long learning, and the earlier a student finds a passion for it, the more fulfilling their life will be, but that it's never too late, either.When I'm not studying languages, i enjoy reading, the violin, climbing (anything and everything), and creating the perfect habitat for each of the bugs and critters i catch. If you ever see me running, something is chasing me. I much prefer yoga.
