Persistence is the key to master any subject

I was awarded a full tuition scholarship to study at Pomona College, where I am now a junior neuroscience major. After I graduate, I plan to apply to medical school. My dream is to one day work with a humanitarian organization doing disaster relief work. I spend my free time studying, volunteering, playing sports, and practicing the cello. I love tutoring students, and have a very interactive teaching style.

I became interested in tutoring during college. I started tutoring biology, chemistry and writing. By my senior year, I was running the tutoring center and writing lab. Following undergraduate, I became a teacher's aid and substitute teacher in the public school system. A year later I attended graduate school, where I received my PhD in neuroscience. I have over 10 years of experience tutoring math, science, SAT prep, and sciences (including biology and life sciences).

I have a bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. I have taken and excelled many upper-level science courses. I aspire to become a healthcare professional and am very dedicated to academics. I have three years of experience tutoring a 10 year old girl and I was successful in bringing her from C average to a straight A student.
