I have been tutoring Computer Science at Portland State University for the last 4 years, and have found it to be incredibly rewarding. I work very well with individuals on a one-to-one basis, particularly with identifying gaps in knowledge, and using multiple learning styles to help fill those gaps. I am also very patient, and good at working at the students pace.

I have been teaching and tutoring math for the last ten years. I enjoy looking at a problem and seeing if there are different ways to solve it, which makes the process a little more interesting than working on it with just one method. One thing I have found to be helpful is to think of possible errors one might make while working on a problem, which allows the concepts to sink in even more.

My goal is to get my students to the point where they no longer need me. I like to focus on the underlying concepts so that students can apply what we learn in our sessions to problems they haven't seen before.
