"We went over a practice exam that the student had. It was useful because she had a lot of questions. I helped her understand the solutions, since they were given along with the problems. We are going to do a 3 hour session tomorrow."
"The main focus of today was some chemistry work that the student had. We reviewed concepts she had learned to prepare her for an upcoming test. Topics included significant figures, metric prefixes, dimensional analysis, precision vs accuracy, and density. She has a strong grasp of the concepts."
"We worked on annotating an article for the student's college and career class. The article focused on the positives of nuclear energy. It was quite a lengthy article. He said he still needed to read an additional article for this class. He highlighted key concepts, took notes and summarized major points. He has a thorough understanding of this article."
"The student practiced the verbal reasoning section of the ISEE exam by going through practice problems. Specifically, she worked on using prefixes, suffixes, and root words to determine synonyms. She also worked on sentence completion based on context, phrases/clauses, words, and parts of speech. This area seems to be her strength on the exam at this point."
"We practiced mainly the conjugation of verbs belonging to the -ar group, as well as the proper pronunciation of the words in Spanish. We also discussed once again the subject and verb positions in the sentence and talked about the use/substitution of subject pronouns."
