As for some background on myself, I'm a recent graduate of the University of Florida with a BS in Microbiology and Cell Science as well as two minors, one in history and one in Spanish. Meanwhile, as a volunteer grade school teacher and a tutor with this company, I have many years' experience helping students reach their full potential. I have worked as a research biologist with the US Forest Service and US Geological Survey and as a biology professor at the University of Puerto Rico and Eastern Kentucky University. For the past 8 years, I have taught biology at a public high school in Mississippi as well as at two local community colleges. I am passionate about biology, in particular ecology, environmental science and botany. As a teacher and tutor, I always focus on creating an environment that is student-centered and promotes student success. I feel that a solid background in science is essential for success in many careers, and I enjoy working with students to help them achieve their goals. In my free time, I like to spend time outside hiking, canoeing, and birdwatching.

English Composition, Literature, and Research, the majority of my teaching time was in college preparatory curricula. I make a room comfortable when I come in but if it needs energized, I energize it.
