Varsity Tutors is here to help students that are preparing to apply to law schools by setting them up with convenient and reliable Cleveland LSAT preparation options. Attending law school is a dream of many students, and those potential law students are facing the LSAT as part of the admissions process. Most students in Cleveland, including those at Case Western University School of Law and Cleveland-Marshall College at Cleveland State University, take the LSAT as part of the process of getting into one of these schools. How well you perform on the LSAT could be a determining factor for admission to the colleges you've applied for, so it is essential to do your best on test day.
The LSAT is an in-depth exam that has four sections: Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Writing. It doesn't matter where you are in your test prep process; whether you have just started preparing or you have been preparing for weeks, you may be questioning what you should do next to make the best out of your study time. If you are considering extra help, Varsity Tutors can help you find a Cleveland LSAT tutor. If you are seeking a more traditional learning experience, we can get you enrolled in a Cleveland LSAT prep course that fits your busy schedule. No matter which prep option seems the best for you, we can help you get started.
What can Cleveland LSAT prep cover?
As mentioned above, the LSAT has four main sections: Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Writing. It is a test that is designed to measure the fundamental skills necessary for success in law school. It is the only test that is accepted by all American Bar Association-accredited law schools. The exam will be administered on a digital tablet that is provided by the test center. You will have nearly three hours in total to complete the exam. In the following paragraphs, we will look at each section more closely, beginning with the Reading Comprehension section.
The Reading Comprehension portion of the exam has a time limit of 35 minutes. It consists of multiple-choice questions that will measure your skills in reading and understanding examples of complex long-form texts like the ones that are often found in law school. You will find questions about information or ideas that are explicitly stated, information or ideas that can be inferred, the primary or main purpose, the application of the information in the selection to a new context, and more. You will want to have strong reading and critical thinking skills for this portion of the test.
Next, you will find the Analytical Reasoning section which must be completed in 35 minutes as well. Your skills will be tested in understanding the structure of relationships and drawing conclusions about the structure. The skills that are assessed include things such as inferring what could be true or must be true from provided rules and facts, comprehension of the basic structure in a set of state relationships, and recognition of two statements with a logically equivalent context.
The Logical Reasoning section is next. It must be finished within 70 minutes and has two sections. The questions in this part of the exam will assess your abilities to evaluate, analyze, and complete arguments critically. The skills evaluated will include things like identifying explanations, identifying flaws in arguments, detecting assumptions made by particular arguments, and much more.
Finally, the Writing section has a time limit of 35 minutes, and it is not scored. You are presented with a decision problem and will need to choose between two positions or courses of action. You must then defend your choice adequately. In this part, law schools are simply looking for clarity, reasoning, language usage, organization, and writing mechanics.

I am a chemical and environmental engineer of long experience who has a knack for explaining science and math concepts in ways that students can understand, helping them to get the concepts. I also help students with their homework in all those areas. While my strong suit is math and science, I can also help explain concepts in English, writing, history, and social studies, as well as edit/proofread papers as needed.... While I am not expert in reading comprehension help, I would try to have the students outline the passage and perhaps draw a picture of what is being discussed. If they can break the passage down by what the sentences are discussing, they can then try to put everything together for a good result.

Emerson said that the secret of education is respecting the student. I have the greatest respect for that part of the human spirit that is curious and wants to learn. I find that if students feel they are listened to and heard, this allows them to feel encouraged. When they begin to understand that learning can be fun, the whole process becomes exciting and joyful. We are all curious and like to learn.
