This section requires that you interact with the information in a reasoned, thoughtful manner. You will have 35 minutes to complete this section.

You will encounter content from informal discourse, advertisements, and scholarly publications. In addition to comprehending the information, you must recognize the parts of the arguments you encounter. You will have a chance to display your ability to use analogies, identify flaws in arguments, and recognize similarities and differences between types of reasoning. There are two portions of this section, and you will have 70 minutes to complete both portions.
The Writing section of the LSAT requires you to choose between one of two positions and explain your reasoning. This section requires you to demonstrate your ability to form an effective argument, use evidence in your reasoning, and use the English language well. This section is not scored, but your response will be sent to any law school where you submit an application. The individual law schools will read your response and assess your writing on their own.
