If you're in the market for quality Charlotte ISEE prep, Varsity Tutors is here to help. The ISEE, which is also known as the Independent School Entrance Exam, is accepted by over 1200 independent schools nationally and internationally for admissions purposes. It is important for your student to put his or her best foot forward on this exam to stand apart from the crowd. The exam is taken into account along with grades, recommendation letters, and interview, and provides a fair and consistent measure of a student's reasoning skills and achievements. A Charlotte ISEE prep can help your student to properly prepare and gain confidence for test day.
What skills or topics can a Charlotte ISEE prep course or instructor cover to assist my student in preparing for the ISEE?
The ISEE is split into various levels for different students. Grade-appropriate skills and topics are assessed at each level to provide admissions offices with an idea of your student's potential to do well in an independent school. The Upper Level ISEE is for students entering ninth grade or higher. The Middle Level is for students about to begin seventh or eighth grade. Students entering fifth or sixth grade will take the Lower Level ISEE. There are also three different Primary Level ISEEs for students entering second, third, or fourth grade. Let's take a closer look at the different levels in more detail.
The Upper, Middle, and Lower Level ISEEs all contain the same 4 sections, plus an unscored Writing sample. The sections consist of the same number of questions and have the same time limit at all three levels, but contain questions appropriate for the age of the test taker. The sections are Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Math Achievement.
The Primary Level ISEE are divided a bit differently. The Primary ISEE is divided into three sections: Reading, Math, and Writing. Students taking the Primary 2 ISEE will also take an Auditory Comprehension section where they must listen to a passage and answer questions about it.
Any and all of these skills can be covered with an ISEE prep instructor or in an ISEE prep course. Whether your student is just starting to prepare and needs a comprehensive review experience or has already begun and needs assistance reviewing for just a few of these sections, Varsity Tutors is here to support his or her review efforts.
What are the benefits of the different types of Charlotte ISEE prep?
When you choose Varsity Tutors for your student's ISEE prep, you'll have the opportunity to sign him or her up for two exceptional options. We offer an online interactive ISEE course and can also provide a connection to highly-qualified private ISEE instructors. Both options are capable of helping your child study for effectively and thoroughly than might be possible alone. Each does come with a different set of benefits and advantages, however, so let's take a closer look at what to expect from either option.
If you make the decision to enroll your student in a Charlotte ISEE prep class, he or she will be able to access class sessions using our online, interactive classroom platform. This means class sessions can be attended at your student's favorite place to study, as long as it has high-speed internet and a computer. You'll have the opportunity to choose between a 2-week and a 4-week course when you sign up. New class sessions are beginning every week so you'll be able to help your student get started as soon as he or she is ready.
Our interactive courses provide your student with the opportunity to receive the same type of benefits one might receive from a traditional classroom. The learning platform allows your student to interact with the teacher as if they are in the same classroom. Your student can also spend time working on collaborative activities with classmates. For example, he or she can engage in group discussions about how to infer information that is not explicitly stated or have a conversation about the best ways to plan and organize a written piece. Group activities such as practicing how to find the area and perimeter of geometric shapes or how to use a Venn Diagram for comparing information can help your student retain the knowledge more easily. This is an excellent option for social students who desire or work best in a structured class environment.
If your student works best in a less formal and more independent environment, a private Charlotte ISEE tutor may be the best option. We will do our best to connect you with a private mentor who suits your student's educational and scheduling needs. This means your child can receive private instruction at a time that works best for your family, whether that's in the afternoon after school or on the weekend due to extracurricular activities. Tutoring sessions are accessed using our unique Live Learning Platform, allowing your student to receiving face-to-face coaching in the public library, a favorite local coffee shop, or the comfort of your own home. Private instructors have the opportunity to get to know your student's weaknesses, strengths, personality, and preferred learning style. This information can help study sessions be created that cater to the exact needs of the student. Your student won't need to spend time reviewing topics he or she has already mastered because lesson plans will focus on the areas in which your student most needs improvement. As these needs change, lessons can be adjusted to better suit your student. This makes study time more effective and efficient.
Some parents may even wish to take advantage of both options for their student. This provides the opportunity for personalized lessons and collaborative activities, both of which can help a student learn more easily and enjoyable. Whichever option you choose, Varsity Tutors is here to support your student in ISEE preparation.
