If you plan on taking a United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) and would like to move forward on a path toward becoming a licensed medical professional, then Varsity Tutors can connect you with a Buffalo USMLE tutor or enroll you in an online course. Any prospective licensed medical professional can benefit from an in-depth review before taking this important exam. By taking a Buffalo USMLE prep course or working with a private instructor to revisit the fundamentals you learned at medical school, you can receive a more comprehensive review than you would by studying on your own.
What concepts will be covered during Buffalo USMLE prep?
Whether you attended Jacobs school of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo, or another school in the area, USMLE covers topics you learned throughout your years at medical school. The USMLE features three different exams, or Steps, that test different levels of skill required in the medical field.
Step 1 is a one-day test session that involves 280 multiple-choice questions covering basic science, divided into seven 60-minute blocks. Step 2 is a similar exam that involves 316 multiple-choice questions covering Clinical Knowledge. This exam is divided into eight 60-minute blocks. You are required to pass Step 1 and Step 2 before you are eligible to move on to Step 3.
Step 3 is a two-day exam that involves more multiple-choice questions and computer-based simulations. Each of these simulations is time-based, allowing for 10 to 20 minutes of real time to finish. This step is usually taken during the first or second year of postgraduate training. You are usually required by most medical licensing authorities to complete Steps 1, 2, and 3 within a seven-year period, beginning when you first pass your Step 1.
With how involved these tests are, you can see how important preparation can be in order to help achieve your goal of passing the exam.
In preparation for the exam, you'll want to not only focus on the wide range of content on the exam, but also the exam's format. Your answers while taking the exam will determine the difficulty level of the upcoming questions. This helps the test figure out your ability. An instructor can help go over basic concepts that will likely be covered on the exam, like behavioral health or the immune system. They can also teach strategies to help increase your chances of guessing correctly if you don't recognize the right answers immediately.
What are the benefits of the different types of USMLE Prep?
Varsity Tutors can set you up with two different types of Buffalo USMLE prep: online courses or private instruction. Whether you prefer learning in a classroom setting or would like one-on-one instruction, Varsity Tutors has you covered.
If you are more comfortable in the collaborative environment of a classroom, you may prefer to enroll in an online Buffalo USMLE prep class. You'll attend a virtual class by using video chat and online whiteboard via our Live Learning Platform. You can easily interact with your instructor as well as your classmates just like you would in a physical classroom. This means you can help share your knowledge with your peers and receive immediate feedback from your instructor.
If you prefer to support your in-class learning with additional face-to-face instruction, you can connect with a private instructor. An instructor can help students work more effectively and address a student's weaknesses. Whether you're struggling with the concepts of behavioral health or the respiratory system, an instructor can help deepen your understanding of a wide range of topics and help give you more confidence going into exam day.
You can choose between an online course, one-on-one tutoring, or, if you think you could benefit from each, you can choose both. And no matter what you choose, you'll receive accurate information from a highly-knowledgeable instructor.
How can I get set up with Buffalo USMLE preparation?
Whether you want to go with an online class or individual tutoring, your prep will be led by a qualified instructor who is knowledgeable in both the content and the format of the USMLE. There is flexible scheduling as well as online access to classes and tutoring, so even if you've got a packed schedule, you can still find time for exam prep. If you are interested in how professional test preparation can help you, give us a call. By reaching out to Varsity Tutors about Buffalo USMLE prep, you can have all your questions answered by our educational consultants so you can make the decision that's right for you.

As patients arrived, I assisted the doctors in providing wound treatment, medication, advice, and a listening ear. Around mid-day,...

I like to be creative and adapt to the learning style of a student. My goal is to make learning fun and never feel like a chore.... Adapt to what kind of learning the student best responds to; that way learning is fun and easy going, and never frustrating.... Get to know each other a bit, in order to know how to approach each topic the best way possible.... I think making different suggestions on how I taught myself, the material could bring some insight to someone in how to go about understanding the topic.
