Varsity Tutors can help you to get started with Boston USMLE preparation. Students or graduates of medical schools in the U.S. take the exam to show that they meet common standards for patient care skills. When you're ready to study for this critical exam, whether you're attending medical school at Harvard Medical Center or Boston University's School of Medicine, it can't hurt to review before you take your test. Whether you prefer to take an online Boston USMLE prep course or connect with a USMLE instructor one-on-one, there are ways to reach for a stronger understanding of these topics than you might find alone.
What can Boston USMLE prep include?
The United States Medical Licensure Examination is comprised of three separate exams, called Steps. They test clinical knowledge, clinical skills, and examine what you know about the patient-centered skills that are central to practicing medicine. Steps One and Two can be taken in any order, but you must take the third portion of the exam after taking the first and second. Step One is a multiple choice exam with 280 questions. It is divided into 60-minute blocks, and the test is scheduled for one day. Step Two is broken into two sections, completed over two days. The first portion is 316 multiple choice questions. In the second half of Step Two, you'll see patients in one of 6 testing centers. You'll see 12 patients, and the exam looks at integrated clinical encounters and proficiency in spoken English. Step Three focuses on patient interaction and must be completed after you take the first two Steps. Like Step Two, it is divided into two different days, with the first focused on 233 multiple choice questions. The second day is divided between the completion of 180 multiple choice questions and 13 computer-based case simulations.
What are the benefits of taking an online Boston USMLE prep class?
There are two ways that Varsity Tutors can help you to get started with Boston USMLE prep: online courses, or one-on-one study with a private academic coach. Although many students find that they prefer one method over the other, there is the possibility that they might combine the two methods to have a more comprehensive preparation experience.
An instructor in an online Boston USMLE prep class knows what the test entails, and is there to guide you and other students as you prep for your exams, no matter which Step you're undertaking. These classes take place virtually in Varsity Tutors' Live Learning Platform. All you need is an internet connection and a computer to attend these sessions and engage with your instructor and the other students who have the same goal you do: to better understand concepts included on the USMLE. These classes are meant to offer you insights into the topics covered, the format of the exam, and what you can expect. In this setting, you might enjoy (and learn from) conversing with other students, and get some insights into the ways you could handle different scenarios where you have to interact with patients. You can always connect with your instructor privately if the need arises.
If you prefer to work one-on-one with a Boston USMLE tutor, that's an option. There are two ways this could happen: virtually, through the Live Learning Platform, or in the same physical location, one agreed on by both you and the tutor. No matter which of these options you choose for your Boston USMLE prep, you'll have the focused attention of your instructor. They can get to know what you're struggling with on the context of this exam and can create a plan that is meant to address those things, in the hopes that you might finish your Boston USMLE prep with a stronger understanding of the content you'll be tested on. In addition, you'll have more control over how quickly you move through the material you're studying because there are no one else's academic needs to consider.
How can I find Boston USMLE preparation?
No matter which format you prefer, your academic preparation will be guided by an instructor who has knowledge of the content and structure of the USMLE. Varsity Tutors can connect you with an online Boston USMLE prep course or an academic coach who knows the material. The flexibility in scheduling and the availability of online classes make this a valuable option for individuals who have busy schedules. If you're curious about how you can get started with Boston USMLE prep, or want more information on either model, we encourage you to contact us today.

I like to be creative and adapt to the learning style of a student. My goal is to make learning fun and never feel like a chore.... Adapt to what kind of learning the student best responds to; that way learning is fun and easy going, and never frustrating.... Get to know each other a bit, in order to know how to approach each topic the best way possible.... I think making different suggestions on how I taught myself, the material could bring some insight to someone in how to go about understanding the topic.
