I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1979 with a BA in history and minor in English. I received a law degree from the University of Memphis (then Memphis State University) in 1982. I have studied European history independently for many years. I am involved in the independent film community and in the last three years have appeared in more than ten short films.

While teaching middle school and high school history classes, students roleplayed, sampled different types of cultural foods and discussed historical viewpoints and outcomes.
