I believe in instilling an understanding of the subject or topic in my student rather than simply regurgitating test strategies. To this end I actively seek to engage with my students and find points of interest for them to explore within the material we are learning. I hold that every student has the potential to learn every subject as a fundamental truth of education.

I am an experienced tutor and teacher from Okinawa, Japan who recently graduated from Brown University and now lives in Brooklyn. I double-majored in economics and urban studies but most of my tutoring and independent teaching experience comes from high school math tutoring, teaching ESL to adults, and college application essay tutoring through Varsity Tutors.
