My interest in Biology started at a very young age due to spending a lot of time outdoors. I am intrigued by the functioning of living organisms and how they are all linked; one small change in one species will affect a whole range of others. I’m fascinated by what makes something ‘alive’, and how something as complex as the human body can exist. I often brought home mice, birds and insects to study their behavior more closely.During my high school education I was more focused on Biology subject than other subjects due to my childhood interests in the things related to life. After completing my 12 year education I pursued my educational career in life sciences and did my Bachelors in Biochemistry followed my Masters in Molecular Biology. Due to interests in life sciences I became able to publish three (3) international publications in the field of Biological sciences. After that I started my Doctoral degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and currently I am working on "bioplastic producing bacteria".I like teaching as a profession and I take it as my hobby. I have many relatives related to teaching profession. I started teaching when I was an undergraduate student. I taught Biology to high school students. During my PhD coursework I taught microbiology related courses to undergraduate students for one year. Now I am working with San Jacinto College Central, Pasadena, TX as Microbiology instructor. That is why I want to pursue my professional career as a professor of Biology.

I attended college at Florida State University, majoring in Clinical Professions in the Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences Program through the College of Medicine. Before college, I had always struggled with understanding science and knew I had to find ways to teach myself the material in college. Learning to teach myself science was difficult but was essential for academic success. I love tutoring because I love figuring out how other people learn and altering the way I teach to help them learn to the best of my ability. This is one of the main reasons I love teaching. I have been a teaching assistant for Biology 1 (BSC2010) at Florida State University. I have also been a teaching assistant lab for Biology 1 at Florida State. From these opportunities, I have learned the various ways in which students learn, which has also inspired me to tutor. I am finishing my undergraduate degree this summer, and then am planning to attend the University of South Florida to obtain a master's in Medical Science. One day, I hope to work in the medical field, either researching the brain or working as a psychiatrist. I tutor almost all undergraduate science courses that are required for medical school, including biology 1 and 2, chemistry 1 and 2, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry 1 and 2, organic chemistry lab, eukaryotic diversity, and biochemistry. At Florida State, I also minored in psychology and will tutor for various undergraduate psychology courses including (but not limited to), social psychology, child abnormal psychology, abnormal psychology, child growth and development, contexts of adult development, and family relationship and life development. I can also tutor for some math classes, including college algebra. I also am interested in working with high school students who are taking classes, including biology, chemistry, English, and more. I would say that my favorite subject to tutor would either be biology or chemistry. When I was taking biology and chemistry as an undergraduate, I was constantly confused about how these classes applied to the "bigger picture" of science. However, I learned the importance of these classes when in my upper-level science classes such as organic chemistry, biochemistry, and eukaryotic diversity. Therefore, I try to ensure that every student I tutor has a complete understanding of the material they are struggling with because this material is fundamental and all science classes will continue to build atop this information. In other words, understanding the material in these classes is crucial to understanding the complex science in upper-level science classes. Also, learning and understanding the concepts associated with these classes was essential for studying and doing well on the MCAT, which I took on April 23rd. I love tutoring these classes in particular because I have built my knowledge of science on these concepts and understand their importance, which allows me to tutor the material effectively. Also, since I had to teach myself how to study for science classes, I have various tactics I use to help understand the material. These classes also interest me so much and every time I teach or tutor, I feel like I learn more about science and the human body, which I love! To effectively tutor a student, I feel like it is crucial to get to know them and their strengths and weaknesses. This information permits me to determine the most effective way to help the student learn the material. I believe learning differs from person to person & thus, to properly tutor someone, you have to get to know them and understand how they learn. From taking the MCAT, I have also learned the importance of practice. When I first began studying for the MCAT, I found myself trying to retain all the information I had learned from undergrad. However, I soon learned that to do well on the MCAT, you must learn how the MCAT tests. This is accomplished via practice problems and practice exams. To me, this philosophy does not differ for teaching. To do well on exams, you must understand the material very well. This means you cannot just memorize the material, but instead understand the underlying concepts. I believe the best way to understand something is through practice problems. Therefore, my tutoring will revolve around practicing problems to see what the student knows and struggles with. This will aid me in altering my tutoring to aid the student master the material.

I am a graduate from Saint Louis University where I received Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry and a minor in Health Care Ethics. Since graduation, I have attended Washington University in Saint Louis for some post baccalaureate classes in preparation for beginning medical school. I offer many subjects that I can tutor and I am confident that I can offer tutoring for any student needing help in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Algebra 1. My most extensive background are in the sciences -- Chemistry and Biology. I am a firm believer in teaching and helping students understand rather than memorizing material. I like to be very interactive with my teaching style because it keeps the students very involved and results in long term understanding of the material. I am a proponent for tutoring because I believe each student is capable of achieving their goals with hard work and the right teaching environment. I really enjoy teaching and watching students make large strides in education. In my spare time, I enjoy sports, reading, skiing, and hiking.

I am currently a freshman at the University of California, Berkeley pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Business Administration. Since 10th grade, I've taken part in tutoring students from underserved areas in STEM-related subjects. Working with non-profits in my area, I was able to help numerous elementary, middle, and high school students learn the fundamentals of science. While I tutor in a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about math and computer science. Helping students learn the abstract concepts found in math and computer science have been very rewarding and quite fun. I believe that education is for everyone and that anyone who puts in enough effort can reap the rewards and satisfaction of not only getting a problem right on an exam but develop a lifelong love for learning. Aside from school, I played soccer nearly all of my life and am a HUGE soccer fan. I also love reading about the latest and greatest tech and love to play the newest video games.

I am a second-year student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and I am in the College of Engineering. I am not exactly sure as to what I want to do after College, but I do know that I would like to do something that involves Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science. In High School, I would teach/tutor elementary school students at a tutoring center in Chicago called Ivy Garden. I tutor many High School Math and Science subjects (including AP courses) as well as Math and Science test prep for the ACT. My favorite subjects to tutor are Calculus and Physics because they are applicable with many things in your daily life. I am inspired to tutor those who are struggling in Math and Science courses because people are very discouraged while studying these subjects and I feel that, with the proper instruction, not only will people get better at those subjects; but they will become more confident in themselves. I believe that understanding something conceptually is ten times more valuable than knowing how to use an equation and I like using real world examples when I am tutoring. On my free time I enjoy playing NBA 2K and actual basketball.
