As someone who thoroughly enjoys school, I feel that I can bring my enthusiasm for learning to any student that I work with. In the past, I have been able to share a variety of learning strategies with students, including time management tools, research skills, and essay outlining. I have worked with students to understand their assignments, brainstorm ideas, and begin the writing process. I have also assisted students on refining their writing in a variety of styles, including personal narrative (often used for application essays), literary analysis, fiction, professional, and others. My B.A. in Writing and Latin American literature enhances my ability to assist students with the fundamentals of writing, reading, and literary analysis. My experience traveling abroad and tutoring people from diverse backgrounds has strengthened my ability to work effectively in culturally diverse settings. I believe that success as an educator comes from patience, perseverance, and compassion. I am fluent in English and Spanish, and I am a TESOL certified ESL instructor.
