I am deeply passionate about helping students because I firmly believe in the transformative power of education. Witnessing the spark of curiosity and the joy of learning ignite within a student is immensely rewarding. My dedication to guiding students on their educational journey stems from my own love for learning and the desire to inspire that same love in others. There is power in knowledge and education, but only if you also love it, I believe that the latter part is the most important.
Over the past decade, I have worked with students from various age groups and across a wide spectrum of subjects. This extensive experience has allowed me to develop a nuanced understanding of diverse learning needs and teaching strategies. Have taught children across the spectrum, from different backgrounds, each with different educational needs.
I have done my high school education in New Zealand, where I am from before I gained admission to UCLA after successfully completing the SAT. I hold a degree in English Literature and Linguistics, as well as a second in Politics and Philosophy, currently, I am pursuing a third degree in Law in the United Kingdom.
My tutoring expertise spans a wide array of subjects, including Beginner, Key Stage, High School, GCSE, and College-level English, Geography and Politics. Additionally, I offer tutoring services in Essay Editing, Test Preparation, Sociology, GCSE Sociology, Social Sciences, General Science, Key Stage 3 Science, GCSE Biology, GCSE Psychology, GCSE History, and more.
I particularly enjoy teaching English, Mathematics, Science, and Geography. I found them the most enjoyable when I was at school, and now enjoy passing that knowledge and love along to others, I find these subjects too are some of the most important, and there are many ways in each subject for the student to learn, and for me to teach, meaning that no lesson is the same, all whilst offering endless opportunities for thought-provoking lessons.
My teaching philosophy centres on the belief that there is always a way to make any subject material interesting and accessible for the student, regardless of how conventional it may seem. To achieve this, I employ a hybrid or blended teaching style that adapts to the specific subject and the individual learning preferences of the student. I seamlessly transition between teacher-led and student-centred approaches to maintain engagement and foster a genuine passion for the subject. My primary goal is to help students discover a method of learning that works best for them.
Outside of academia, I love sports, both as a spectator and a participant. I have a particular interest in motorsport, ice hockey, and water polo. If you need me over the weekend, you can find me curled up on the sofa, in front of the television with a cup of tea, and the formula one racing on - perhaps on an off weekend, maybe a movie.
