About Me

I'm a fourth year medical student at the University of Pennsylvania who is applying to pediatrics residency programs. I graduated in 2006 from Yale University with a bachelors degree in History. I subsequently completed a post-baccalaureate program at Bryn Mawr College to complete the premedical course work and matriculated into Penn's medical school. I took a year off from medical school between my third and fourth year to get a masters degree in education focusing on medical education but also learning a tremendous amount about K-12 education as well. While I plan on being a physician in the future, I know that education will play a major role in my career whether it's educating patients, medical students, or residentsHaving gone through the rigors of the college and medical school application process (including taking the required standardized tests), I'm very familiar with both the content and the test taking process. For the last two years I've served as a teaching assistant to the first year medical students in the Gross Anatomy course. During my time at Bryn Mawr I tutored students who were struggling in the basic sciences (physics, biology, chemistry and organic chemistry).I've also spent a great deal of time working with children of all ages. From my time spent as a canoeing instructor for 9-14 year old boys in Belgrade Lakes, ME to my medical school pediatrics rotations, I'm very comfortable working with people of any age (newborn through adulthood).I'm a big baseball fan, and also love being outdoors, (whether its going on a backpacking trip for a week or just a short run).
