I am a graduate of California State University, Fullerton where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. I graduated in 2020 and since then have worked with many students online from around the world, teaching subjects in English as a Second Language. I am passionate about teaching because I love to help students learn and grow confident in a subject. One of my favorite success stories is when I helped prepare a client for a job interview and he was chosen for the position out of 700 candidates. He was nervous that his English was not strong enough so we practiced his answers so that he felt confident and prepared during the interview. In addition to this student, I have experience preparing students for ESL exams such as TOEFL and IELTS and use resources such as practice exams. Also, I have worked with students to improve their conversation skills, through casual and formal conversation. Seeing students improve their speaking week by week makes me feel proud as a tutor. In addition, I have helped students with their writing, such as essays and poetry. My favorite subject to teach is writing because I love seeing a student's idea down on paper and expressed the way they had it in their mind. As a teacher, my philosophy is to inspire students to become confident through gaining the language skills they are seeking. My tutoring style is student-centered and I adapt my lessons based on what each student needs.
Outside of teaching, I am a mom, which has taught me patience and adaptability, important skills as a tutor, especially when a student struggles with learning a concept. In my free time, I love a good cup of coffee, baking, running, and dancing.
