I am a second-year biomedical engineering undergraduate at the University of Florida. I know how valuable the teachers and mentors I had were in getting me to this place, and I want to be able to be that for someone else. I am currently tutoring elementary students outside of this program in my area to improve the local literacy rates and instill the love for learning that I have in others. I want to foster a judgment-free environment where learning is perceived as a gift rather than a chore. For me, the basis of learning is understanding why and how something works rather than solely the mechanics. Conceptual learning is more important than computational. In high school, I took IB HL English and IB SL Latin, which makes me a good fit for explaining the roots of grammar and words in order to improve writing style and reading comprehension. I enjoy tutoring any subject that I feel confident in thus can explain well ranging from Calculus 1 and 2, general biology, general chemistry, anatomy, algebra, phonics, matlab, assisting in college essay or any essay writing, Latin, etc. I want to get to know the student, and that way I can tailor the best learning style to his or her individual needs.
