I am a certified speech-language pathologist in the state of Missouri. I attended Truman State University for both my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Communication Disorders. During my college years, I worked as a tutor for high school and college students in the following subjects: English, Essay Writing, and Mathematics. During my career as a speech-language pathologist, I have worked with elementary students in the areas of speech pathology, syntax, morphology, semantics, and pragmatics. I have also worked with students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
I currently tutor the following subjects: English, Essay Writing/Editing, Grammar/Syntax, and Reading Comprehension. I also help students in the field of speech pathology prepare for the PRAXIS examination. I really enjoy helping students with reading comprehension and language. Literacy and language are imperative to the learning process. They help us develop our thoughts and expand our knowledge of the world around us.
Every student is unique in their learning styles and interests. My goal is to give students confidence in their respective subjects and have them play an active role in their learning. I will give my students the tools they need to succeed.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. I like exploring new restaurants, coffee shops, and art galleries. I also watch a lot of Netflix, so any show/movie recommendations are welcome!
