I tutor with a nurturing style to help students to understand their assigned studies, build confidence to learn, and prepare for exams. I provide supportive and encouraging learning experiences so that students engage and participate interactively with me during their sessions. I focus on problem-solving and directing students to gain a better understanding of the learning material and find answers to their questions.
I have taught physics and chemistry in high school for the last two years. I completed graduate degrees in chemical engineering in an Ivy League school, where I was a teaching assistant and an instructor for freshman Physics. I've worked as a research scientist in the industry for many years, and during that time, I taught chemistry intermittently in colleges for two years.
In my research career, I apply techniques of chemistry and principles of engineering that come from the laws of science. I share my work experience and the joy of gaining knowledge of science and technology with students so that they find some level of pleasure in what they are studying.
My high school teaching experience taught me ways to cater to students with different learning styles. I request my students to communicate about their preferred methods so that I can adjust my approach accordingly. I would not try fitting one-size of teaching to all.
