I am a graduate of Willamette University with an M.A. in Teaching (focus on elementary/middle school and music) and a post-graduate program in Special Education PreK-12. I also hold a B.A. in Music with a dual concentration in music education and music theory/composition from George Fox University. I am currently pursuing board certification in music therapy. I have worked in the field of education for 15+ years and am completing my 9th year as a licensed teacher. I have experience with individuals with disabilities, English language learners and gifted students, both in my personal and professional experiences. I specialize in working with multi-exceptional learners.

I have experience with various standardized tests, both taking them and coaching students, with a proven track record of score improvement for my students. I have taken the SAT, GRE and several teacher licensure examinations. I have particular experience with coaching students on MAP testing, test taking strategies, dealing with test anxiety and closing the gap when students are behind through intensive instruction.

I have lived in rural Alaska - a.k.a. the "Bush" and used to live in the community where the TV show "The Alaskan Bush People" was filmed!

I love helping all students learn, no matter their level, and helping them set their own goals to grow long after they work with me. I am a positive teacher and believe that everyone can make progress with support and a desire to learn. I have worked with every age group from 6 weeks old to adults.
