I earned my bachelors degree from the University of Missouri---St. Louis in History. Currently, I am employed as a librarian. Thus, my strengths include reading comprehension, reading, and writing. History is one of my favorite subjects and it is a hobby of mine since I like to learn the history of buildings, cities, and people. I am also a softball coach for a 14U select softball team. Softball is definitely a passion of mine, and I enjoy giving back to the sport. My other hobbies include hiking, hunting, and eating new foods (I am a self proclaimed foodie). When it comes to teaching, I like to help develop skills that allow students to gain confidence in a subject, as well as assisting them with skills that fit their learning styles. Not every student learns the same way, so teaching has to adapt to where the student is able to learn the subject in a way that makes sense to them. I also like to teach students to enjoy reading, writing, and history. Sometimes I feel like students hate reading because its time consuming rather then enjoying what a book has to offer. With history, I think that the struggle is that students find it boring and I like to bring history to life! I find creative ways to make learning a more personable and enjoyable experience.
