As I approach the completion of my first-year teaching, I am seeking a position as an Elementary, Secondary Science or Special Education tutor. I obtained my Master's degree in Teaching at Notre Dame of Maryland University in May 2016. I am dual certified in both Secondary Biology and Special Education.
As a teacher in a diverse county, I have gained experience making NGSS curriculum accessible to students in ESOL and LAD programs. I have gained many valuable skill. I have engaged in many classroom and field-base experiences that involved co-planning lessons with both math and science teachers, differentiating lessons, developing assessments for all students, developing progress reports, and attending IEP meetings.
I am committed to helping individuals with emotional and behavioral disabilities, as well as, individuals with intellectual and developmental learning problems. I am adept at implementing behavior plans to reduce student's socially inappropriate behaviors while, promoting acceptable social behaviors. Most importantly, I can effectively respond to and manage crisis situations. I know I will be a great candidate to work with "at risk" students.
