How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would tell them how much education can affect their lives and the lives of others in the future.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
I would read it with them and help them figure it out by themselves.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
I explain the basics of the concept before answering their questions.
How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?
After making sure that they understand the question, I'll sometimes compete with them in a fun way and let them win to get them energized to do more.

I would ask them to explain it to me or solve a similar question.
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that every student needs to know the basics to be able to fully understand the concept.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would always introduce myself, and then I start right away by asking what they were struggling with to not waste any time.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Since I am an independent learner myself, I'll tell them some useful tips and study skills that I have used that guarantee their understanding.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
I will make sure they understand everything, and help them ease up so they don't overreact.
How do you evaluate a student's needs?
I ask what they are feeling pressured in, and after explaining it to them, I make sure that they understand the next concept.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
I use a lot of online sources, but the student's textbooks are as good.
How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?
I first learn what they are stuck on, and then I'll start teaching them what they need in the way they would understand it.
