I'm a passionate teacher who greatly enjoys instructing young people in writing, history, and business skills, and believe that every student can acquire an appreciation for these subjects. I believe the best way to get kids to succeed in a subject is to demonstrate to them why it is an important area of knowledge, and how it fits into the bigger scope of their worldview. If they are motivated and excited to understand the material in front of them, they'll be better prepared to succeed on tests, projects, and papers.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Passionate teaching inspires passionate learning. A teacher has to motivate his students with excitement for the subject matter, depth of knowledge of the material, and personal communication with his pupils.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Communicate with them to understand what they hope to get out of our tutoring sessions and develop a specific and personalized plan to help them achieve their academic and personal goals over our time together.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Avoid merely lecturing or teaching rote memorization of facts, and instead equip the students to investigate, wrestle, and interpret the subject material themselves. If the student learns how to properly handle the material, it will be easier for them to understand and utilize it themselves.
