I am a third-year medical student at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill School of Medicine. I completed my undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill, where I majored in French with a minor in Business Administration and received the Morehead-Cain Scholarship (a full four-year merit-based scholarship). My passion for learning and for helping others has led me to pursue tutoring. I have been fortunate enough to have mentors of my own throughout my years in high school and college, and I look forward to providing the same level of care and compassion to other students. My ability to listen with an open mind to others makes me an effective communicator; I learned this during my time teaching a college-level Spanish class, serving as president of a cultural organization at my university, and working as a Certified Medical Interpreter, fluent in both Spanish and French. In addition, as a musician and previously a competitive athlete, I have encountered obstacles throughout the learning process and understand the value of patience in overcoming them. I believe that I can serve as a motivator for others who might feel anxious about a certain academic subject. Finally, I consider myself to be organized and effective at time management; many years of balancing academics with sports, music, and school clubs and organizations have trained me to work efficiently and plan my time well. In my free time, I enjoy being active; I like to box, figure skate, and play tennis. I also play the piano and enjoy listening to music. Finally, I am a major foodie and I enjoy traveling to different places to explore new cuisines and learn about diverse cultures. I look forward to tutoring in a wide array of subjects, from languages to essay writing to standardized tests (ranging from SAT and ACT to the USMLE Step 1 test for medical students).
