I am a GAT at the University of Arizona where I am finishing my PhD and have already earned my MA. The 101/102/109/373 English courses that I taught included one-on-one mentoring sessions with my students to improve composition skills and close reading comprehension, as well as rhetoric, persuasive arguments, and historical context. My prior experience as an instructor at the U of A should make me an exceptional candidate for tutoring college students through any assignment that involves essay writing. I have been committed to communicating with as many of my students from my classes on an individual basis as possible. Even when I have not been teaching, I have been contacted by past students asking for additional tutoring assistance which made me consider becoming a professional tutor. I am extremely disciplined which is demonstrated through my clerical work as an administrative assistant. In these positions, I was often the coordinator for the schedules of others in addition to my own. I believe in the importance of guided learning through tutoring, and I look forward to assuming the role more officially. In my personal time, I enjoy film, camping, writing/reading poetry, and staying up to date with my video games.
