I am a tutor who encourages and supports the individual's quest for knowledge and personal growth through education. I consider my job primarily to be unlocking potential, using my own knowledge and experience as tools in this process. I was always the friend in school who organized study groups and made sure my friends passed; at work I always end up as primary trainer, and in my free time I enjoy teaching youth and adults my hobbies: organic gardening, solar cooking, yoga, playing guitar, singing and beekeeping. My real passion is languages. I never tire of teaching Mandarin Chinese, Spanish or my native tongue, English (especially writing). Given these subjects, it may be surprising to learn that my degree (an AAS) is in Building and Construction with a focus on solar energy, but I like to be practical as well as philosophical. I also have earned certificates in Mandarin Chinese and Journalistic Writing through the military, where I graduated at the top of these classes and served as a translator and writer for several years. I like to use life to inspire and develop learning in others, and use education to enrich life.
