The student and I discussed the following: calculating coordinates of a midpoint knowing the coordinates of two endpoints, calculating the coordinates of an endpoint knowing the coordinates of midpoint and the other endpoint, determining the distance between two points using the distance formula or Pythagorean theorem, deriving the distance formula from Pythagorean theorem, determining the coordinates of a point knowing the distance, generating the equation of a line passing through a given point and parallel or perpendicular to a known line. She has memorized the formulas, understood the concepts, and worked out the calculations very well. She is ready for her test.

Tutoring review by Kelsy in Dublin, OH
The student and I worked on Algebra 2. We went over some areas he said he has been struggling with: solving a system of equations with three variables, completing the square, and graphing parabolas. A lot of the problems I made up my self. He appeared to struggle with the basic concepts of eliminating a term or isolating a variable. On graphing parabolas I taught him a shortcut. Completing the square, we worked on pulling out the 'b' term and completing the square then determining the vertex. I left him with 3 practice problems to work on for the next session.
