About Me

I've earned my M.Ed from The Ohio State University in English Education and earned a B.S. in journalism from Syracuse University. I've taught 7th and 8th grade English for the past two years at Noble Academy, a charter school in Columbus. All of my classes have demonstrated positive growth over the course of a year. I also run a college prep clinic for students from Somali backgrounds and have done so for the past four years. I started in education through Teach for America as a Spanish and remedial English teacher at a high school in Greenwood, MS. I tutor English, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Spanish. I personally love to teach any writing component, because I enjoy the process of creating an essay which everyone can enjoy. I consider my tutoring style to mimic that of a coach; my goal is to push your student toward a higher end. I have an ability to build a quick rapport with students and have them understand the work necessary to succeed on their chosen path. In my spare time, I like to run, read, write, and watch sports. I'm looking forward to helping your student find personal success in their academic lives!
