I look forward to showing students that they can understand math!... Ask the student what they need help with. If a deficiency in an area becomes apparent when answering, then I will lay a foundation by addressing the deficiency. If a problem is difficult for the student, I'll demonstrate the same concept using a simple example, and explain that the same procedure will work with the more complicated problem.
