About Me

I taught English for years in the United States at four elite college preparatory high schools and three universities and colleges. At those high schools, I specialized in Honors American Literature and Honors World Literature and was included in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" in 1994; at the collegiate level, freshman writing. I hold a California Community College Instructor Credential (Valid for Life) in Language Arts/Literature and Philosophy/Religion. My academic background includes two Master's Degrees, with an emphasis in religion, literature, and humanities, followed by completing all university post-graduate courses in literature required to advance to a Ph.D. dissertation phase of study. In those academic endeavors, my GPA averaged between 3.8 and 4.0 for all graduate degrees. Professionally, in addition to teaching English, I retired honorably as a US military officer, with my last significant postings being in or near Washington DC.As an online tutor, I am most interested in helping students acquire better writing skills, which are prerequisites for academic and professional success beyond high school.
