About Me

I have been an educator since graduating from The University of South Florida, in 2012. I have been passionate about reading and writing since I was a child, and my life-long love of ELA continued to my adult years. I have been teaching ELA since my first year of teaching. I started out in elementary (4th and 5th) and then gained my middle school certification. I have taught 6th grade ELA and 7th grade ELA. I believe that literacy is the key to success for all academic subjects. Strong foundational skills-specifically vocabulary analysis- will build strong fluency and comprehension. I believe in gaining rapport with students which helps make learning engaging. I break down concepts into smaller parts, so that each part is easier to understand. I color code parts for visual learners. I have taught online ESL classes for 3 years, and I am excited about continuing my tutoring career in the ELA realm.
